Close doors,

shut eyes,

and go deaf in the years,

After all my pain is a usual suspect,

Welcome to my Woman’s World.

The darkness slowly creeps upon me,
there are shivers down my spine,
as I turn in my bed I wonder,
if a dreamless sleep could be mine.

There are thoughts that will not go away,
and regrets play on my mind,
of why my voice was muffled,
and why does the silence stay.

I raise my voice to be heard,
but noises shadow my sounds,
I try to talk through the clutter,
hoping that something in someone stirred.

It’s then that I realise,
truth has lost its audience,
only convenience of the present lives,
I see it very clearly now,
compassion has met its demise.
